1.- What makes Pisos Coloniales de México different from other Mexican producers of handmade glazed tile?

Our manufacturing is really handmade, including the finest details in freehand decoration, most tile manufacturers use screen printing or tightrope techniques to speed up the work which changes the nature and design of the product a bit. It happens to look like a floor manufactured in series.

The quality is the finest, compared to floor manufactured by machines. We do not let impurities, production errors, or contamination that other producers allow. That is why our tile can even be installed inside swimming pools, since our high quality guarantees it.

Our enamels, pigments, dyes, bases occupy a higher temperature (more than 1050 degrees Celsius cooked with gas) than other areas of the country, therefore, they have greater resistance in exteriors and interiors. Ceramics It does not come off easily like other products that, even with the nails, give off their economic enamel (cheap is expensive).

Of course, under these indicators, it is worth mentioning that the duration is a minimum of 30 years without any damage monitoring the installation recommendations.

This handmade tile is a true luxury.

2.- How do I choose the most suitable product for my project?

Mainly you have to specify where you plan to install, if they are humid, exterior or interior areas. Next, you have to define a design, if it is only one type of piece, or compatible formations to beautify and decorate our space. Finally, measurements are taken in square or linear meters to cover the surface.

3.- What material is recommended for indoor or outdoor?

Our ceramic glazed tile can be installed in both areas. Our material is guaranteed to be used for swimming pools, as long as the installation does not allow leaks between the nozzles.

4.- Where can this type of tile be installed?

We can see it installed on facades, planters, bars, benches, floor, ceiling, walls, windows, doors, kitchens, bathrooms, fountains, pools, grills, fireplaces, basically in any area that wish to decorate with our Mexican art.

Mainly the best known places for cladding is in the walls and bars of kitchens or bathrooms. But this material is suitable to be installed inside the pools, on wet floors such as showers, to frame windows, doors, valances, views, terminations.

It even works for floor, since we have matte or non-slip colors. Or, bright classics with a range of varied tones.

In special projects such as murals, they are decorative paintings that will never be damaged.

 

 

5.- What advantage distinguishes Saltillense mud over other materials?

The clay tile (mud) is totally thermal, heat insulating and ecological. The mud of our region in Saltillo is the best due to its mineral properties, which have greater resistance and hardness.

6.- What care recommendations do you have?

The installation must be correct, that is to say by applying pegazulejo or cement in the whole piece (not only in the corners). Avoid cleaning and contact with corrosive substances such as acids or chlorine, as well as oils. It is also necessary to check that the installation of the house or pipes are not leaking, because if the material is moistened from the inside, it can wear the parts internally and damage them. Perform usual cleaning with common soaps and water.

7.- What delivery time is handled?

It depends above all on the volume and type of material. If we have the parts in inventory, it takes 1 to 3 business days after the credited payment.

In the case of manufacturing, the quantity of parts must be checked and the time may vary from 2 to 8 weeks. In special cases of orders by volume of figures, enamels or new colors or large pieces can increase the time. Subject to availability and manufacturing possibilities.

8.- Is there a minimum purchase?

In the case of material in inventory is not established. For tile manufacturing, if at least 100 pieces are requested.

9.- Can new parts or figures be manufactured in different sizes?

Yes, only an additional cost is added for the manufacture of the mold. And a minimum purchase is established according to the type of piece. Our refractory vessels (setter) have a specific measure to cook a large number of pieces (max 1 cm). It is also important to mention that our cooking method, sometimes does not allow to manufacture extra-large pieces by volume, nor pieces with much thickness. Please ask the advisors if it is possible to manufacture few pieces and check the price.

10.- Can samples be sent?

Yes, the samples are free (maximum one box). Shipments are paid by the customer.

11.- How is the manufacturing process?

Pure mud is extracted, ground, screened, impurities are removed. A paste is made with water and sand that must have an intermediate point (not so soft, nor so rigid). Then the molding of parts and figures is done. You enter a special room that removes moisture from the pieces (previously exposed to the sun). Then it goes on to the enamelling process, and if the piece is decorated with different designs and figures, our craftsmen draw the pulse lines finely. After entering the oven cooking with Gas about 8 to 14 hours. After cooling, parts are selected, quality is inspected and packed according to requirements.

12.- Are there changes or guarantees?

Yes, applicable within the following policies for FIRST quality:

You can only make a change in first-class items in the event that any floor has some notable variation to a greater extent than 1.5 cm.

No changes are accepted regarding the floor's own tones

Once the items are delivered to the plant or parcels, we are not responsible for the proper transfer of tile. Therefore, there is no exchange for broken parts.

The company is not responsible for erroneous calculations of facilities since the client is responsible for providing exact measures and / or dimensions to cover the surface (the person in charge of the work is the one who can assign the measures to be covered).

 

There are no changes in parts sold as SECOND quality.

13.- What kind of variations can we find in the Glazed Tile?

Our quality demands the best, however there are characteristics that are characteristic of the process such that the pieces are not uniformly accurate. They may have a slight curve at the bottom or some minimal variation in the measurement by less than 5 mm. There are also some colors that come out with some variation: they can be a little lighter others darker than the original sample without losing the base color.

We are PROHIBITED to deliver in first quality pieces with stones (limepops), raw pieces inside, broken pieces, footprints, pieces with setter stuck, contaminated or stained. Except when the customer requests or authorizes the sale with this type of defects, second quality will be sold at a lower price. Each of the pieces are checked one to three times to ensure adequate quality.

14.- Is there a discount for wholesale purchases?

Yes, in higher sales by trailer or by established contract. It can also include Saltillo Tiles.

15.- Are there distributors in Mexico or other countries?

Yes, please ask the advisors. Take into account that prices are different from direct factory prices.

16.- What type of shipments are handled?

We can ship from parts by packages such as UPS, FEDEX, DHL

Consolidated by pallets with packages by volume or, complete units by trailer or containers.

Freight rates are not included in EX Works factory price.

In the United States if we can ship to Laredo, TX, ask for a special export price.

17.- Do you handle various ceramic accessories?

Yes, we also have the following products:

sinks, bathroom accessories (hooks, toilet roll holders, towel rails, brushes, among others), household plates, some kitchen containers with talaveras design (salad bowls, vases, tibores, tea sets, pots, among others).

18.- Do you handle different textures?

Yes, there are flat, rustic textures, with reliefs or disuniform waves, matt or bright colors among others ... Smooth or decorated.
